The folks who brought us 798 unit & co. move into the 8 Lyndhurst building. JAR (which stands for “Just a Restaurant”) follows 798’s ideology of no-frills, no-fuss, casual dining but with a bolder, more experimental menu. Thin-crust pizzas are replaced by chewy flatbreads and simple caesars are swapped out for anchovy ceviche with shaved fennel. JAR also offers hearty eat-in or takeaway lunch sets, complete with helpings from the salad bar. Dinner for two: $650.
